What's Happening at Big South Fork Airpark

You can’t tell, but under the layers of clothes they were smiling from ear to ear during their trail ride in the back county with their guide Rick. The FAA Air Transportation Modernization and Safety Improvement Act H.R. 658, which contains Residential Through the Fence preserving language has been signed by President Obama. Coming this summer the Cumberland Home will be available at Big South Fork Airpark. It is a 2,500 sq/ft, 3 bedroom beautiful mountain home. Shown with a detached garage that includes a roof top deck and fireplace above that can be converted into a hangar. The home includes a standing seam metal roof, indoor and outdoor fireplace, custom natural stone tile showers, custom cabinets, granite counter tops, wood floors and a wrap around deck. Jim and Dawn Curley from Missouri City, TX have started construction on their dream home at Big South Fork Airpark. They have a Satterwhite log home package with two large fireplaces, custom cabinets and floors, granite counter tops, natural tile showers and built in closets. March 19th- The Moody Blues are coming to the Tennessee Theatre. For over thirty years, The Moody Blues have been musical mainstays on concert stages, recordings and the airwaves. January 27th-April 15th, 2012 - Liquid Light: Watercolors from the KMA Collection. This exhibition showcases recently acquired watercolors by East Tennessee artists Thomas Campbell, Charles Krutch, George Galloway, Walter Stevens, Carl Sublett, Richard Clarke, Whitney Leland, and Jered Sprecher, and presents them in the larger context of the museum’s watercolor collection alongside works by Charles Burchfield, Janet Fish, and other internationally known artists. January 20th - March 1st – Curated by Sam Yates and HidekiKimura, professor of art at Kyoto City University of Arts, Redefining the Multiple unites 13 printmakers from Japan who bring the techniques and concepts of printmaking to a wide range of contemporary and traditional media. *Exhibition is continued at the Ewing Gallery on the UT campus.  December 1st — May 15th – U.S. ITER Project. An exhibition, utilizing audiovisuals and interactives, to explain a major international research project with the goal of demonstrating the scientific and technological feasibility of fusion energy. Click Here for more info.

 February 14th – 16th at 7:30 pm - SHREK THE MUSICAL, based on the Oscar winning DreamWorks film that started it all, brings the hilarious story of everyone’s favorite ogre to life on stage. In a faraway kingdom turned upside down, things get ugly when an unseemly ogre shows up to rescue a feisty princess. Throw in a donkey who won’t shut up, a villain with a SHORT temper, a cookie with an attitude and other fairy tale misfits, and you’ve got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. January 12th — March 30th – Knoxville Arts & Fine Crafts Center: Works by Nancy Roberson. Featuring the work of local fiber artist Nancy Roberson. Come view these exquisite hand-dyed, woven tapestries and shawls, capes and scarves. Click Here for more info.

U.S. Sport Aviation EXPO in Sebring set records for attendance and traffic according to organizers. The weather was perfect and for 2 hours on sat, Sebring was one of the busiest airports in the nation.
