March 19th- The Moody Blues are coming to the Tennessee Theatre. For over thirty years, The Moody Blues have been musical mainstays on concert stages, recordings and the airwaves. January 27th-April 15th, 2012 - Liquid Light: Watercolors from the KMA Collection. This exhibition showcases recently acquired watercolors by East Tennessee artists Thomas Campbell, Charles Krutch, George Galloway, Walter Stevens, Carl Sublett, Richard Clarke, Whitney Leland, and Jered Sprecher, and presents them in the larger context of the museum’s watercolor collection alongside works by Charles Burchfield, Janet Fish, and other internationally known artists. January 20th - March 1st – Curated by Sam Yates and HidekiKimura, professor of art at Kyoto City University of Arts, Redefining the Multiple unites 13 printmakers from Japan who bring the techniques and concepts of printmaking to a wide range of contemporary and traditional media. *Exhibition is continued at the Ewing Gallery on the UT campus. December 1st — May 15th – U.S. ITER Project. An exhibition, utilizing audiovisuals and interactives, to explain a major international research project with the goal of demonstrating the scientific and technological feasibility of fusion energy. Click Here for more info.
February 14th – 16th at 7:30 pm - SHREK THE MUSICAL, based on the Oscar winning DreamWorks film that started it all, brings the hilarious story of everyone’s favorite ogre to life on stage. In a faraway kingdom turned upside down, things get ugly when an unseemly ogre shows up to rescue a feisty princess. Throw in a donkey who won’t shut up, a villain with a SHORT temper, a cookie with an attitude and other fairy tale misfits, and you’ve got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero.
