Fly-In Lunch, February 25th

Come join us at Big South Fork Airpark for a Fly-In lunch on February 25th. A complementary lunch will be served with all the fixin’s from 11-2pm. U.S. Sport Aviation EXPO

U.S. Sport Aviation EXPO in Sebring set records for attendance and traffic according to organizers. The weather was perfect and for 2 hours on sat, Sebring was one of the busiest airports in the nation. March 19th- The Moody Blues are coming to the Tennessee Theatre. For over thirty years, The Moody Blues have been musical mainstays on concert stages, recordings and the airwaves. Their remarkable consistency has generated the sale of over 55 million albums and created a standard for classic rock music. Click Here for more info.

January 27th-April 15th, 2012 - Liquid Light: Watercolors from the KMA Collection. This exhibition showcases recently acquired watercolors by East Tennessee artists Thomas Campbell, Charles Krutch, George Galloway, Walter Stevens, Carl Sublett, Richard Clarke, Whitney Leland, and Jered Sprecher, and presents them in the larger context of the museum’s watercolor collection alongside works by Charles Burchfield, Janet Fish, and other internationally known artists. January 20th - March 1st – Curated by Sam Yates and HidekiKimura, professor of art at Kyoto City University of Arts, Redefining the Multiple unites 13 printmakers from Japan who bring the techniques and concepts of printmaking to a wide range of contemporary and traditional media. *Exhibition is continued at the Ewing Gallery on the UT campus. December 1st — May 15th – U.S. ITER Project. An exhibition, utilizing audiovisuals and interactives, to explain a major international research project with the goal of demonstrating the scientific and technological feasibility of fusion energy. Click Here for more info.

February 14th – 16th at 7:30 pm - SHREK THE MUSICAL, based on the Oscar winning DreamWorks film that started it all, brings the hilarious story of everyone’s favorite ogre to life on stage. In a faraway kingdom turned upside down, things get ugly when an unseemly ogre shows up to rescue a feisty princess. Throw in a donkey who won’t shut up, a villain with a SHORT temper, a cookie with an attitude and other fairy tale misfits, and you’ve got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. January 12th — March 30th – Knoxville Arts & Fine Crafts Center: Works by Nancy Roberson. Featuring the work of local fiber artist Nancy Roberson. Come view these exquisite hand-dyed, woven tapestries and shawls, capes and scarves. Click Here for more info.

We would like to Congratulate Bob Osvold for winning our iPad2 give away. It was great meeting everyone at the show and letting them know why Big South Fork Airpark is a great fit for them and their aircraft. NBAA 64th Annual Meeting & Convention

We would like to congratulate Leisa Finley from Wetumpka, Alabama for being the winner of our iPad give away contest! Way to go Leisa and have fun with your new iPad2. Everyone at Big South Fork Airpark had a great time at the NBAA 64th Annual Meeting & Convention in LasVegas, NV. We had an amazing turnout with tons people asking about the airpark and scheduling tours to come see us. This has been one of the best shows we have had so far!

Wings Over Big South Fork

The 8^th Annual Wings Over Big South Fork Air & Car Show was a big hit! The air show was full of fighter jets, war birds, stunt planes and the Remote Area Medical DC-3 and parachute team. Thanks to all of our residents and visitors for a great airshow! We had a great time during our annual airshow dinner at our welcome center and it was nice meeting with all of the new visitors. 5th Annual Louie Bluie Festival

Join us for the 5th Annual Louie Bluie Festival Celebrating the Life of Howard “Louie Bluie” Armstrong. The festival will be held on October 1, 2011 from 10am – 7:45pm at the Cove Lake State Park in Caryville, TN.

This all-day family-fun festival features three stages of music including traditional Old-time, Blues, Gospel, Mountain Jazz, and Bluegrass, plus storytelling and theater and our Kid’s Fun Zone with lots of activities for the children. High quality art and handmade crafts will be sold in the Craft Village, and a judged Art and Quilt Show will be in the Recreation Center. Regional food vendors will be serving up a mouthwatering array of authentic Southern cooking, East Tennessee style.

The Louie Bluie Festival is named in honor of Howard “Louie Bluie” Armstrong (1909-2003), a LaFollette native and internationally acclaimed string band musician who grew up in LaFollette in the 1920s and became one of the nation’s finest string band musicians, as well as artist, storyteller, and writer.
