Wings Over the Big South Fork 2008 is the Fifth Annual Air Show and Fly In held at the Scott County Airport near Oneida. The day long event features professional air show performers (Michael Mancuso in his Extra 300 and Kelly P. "The Flying Babe" of Happy Aerobatics in her Pitts bi-plane), historic WWII and military aircraft, recreational and business aircraft. Airplane and helicopter rides are available at modest prices along with a rock climbing wall, motorcycle poker run, food and fun throughout the day. All of these features are designed to spark an appreciation of aviation in young and old alike, and to introduce people to this wonderful and scenic part of the Cumberland Plateau.

The Cumberland Plateau in and around Rugby abounds with autumn wildflowers, including several rare species. Jack Carman, whose book Wildflowers of Tennessee is THE definitive guide, will lead several walks around Rugby. From Blue Curls to Maryland Golden Aster, attendees will learn and see at least 20 species and attend a slide presentation and book signing. Rugby’s own heirloom Michaelmas Daisies will be available for sale. (Lunch break included). Instructor: Jack Carman; Fee: $12
